Lilly Lane and
Analyce Wilson:
Analyce Wilson is the Lady Trojan’s athlete of the week. Ana has had a strong and solid first half of the season. She has really found her way in the front row, hitting line, cross court, and donut. She has been such a power player for our team and we can't wait to see her continue to dominate in her position. Keep up the hard work, Ana!

HECTOR of the Week
JH - Saphira Rodriguez -Saph has shown HECTOR all throughout this year. She is a hard worker in class. She gets all of her work done on time and with great quality. She has a positive attitude. She always does what is expected of her. She is a great example of how HECTOR should be displayed in school.
HS - Jerome Etheridge is very respectful and is always on task. When he needs help, he is not afraid to ask questions and then he delivers on whatever the expectations are from his teachers.
Staff - Laura Garcia. I am nominating her for all her hard work and dedication to our district!!

State Golf will be leaving at 7:00 am on Sunday. The plans are to meet at the golf course, the fire department and the Sheriff's department will be there to escort the team out of town. This is very exciting for LAHS - since they qualified three golfers, they also qualify to compete as a team. #TrojanPride #LAAllTheWay

Robert Mitchell, Ph.D. (Ph.D. Coordinator for Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy for the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs) brought representatives of the Public Education and Business Coalition (https://www.pebc.org) to visit a few schools in southeast Colorado for a quick peak to better understand education in the rural plains. The group stopped by to learn more about Las Animas Elementary School and for a quick tour from students Luke LaBarge and Sloane Lockhart.
