HECTOR of the Week
HS - JessLyn Hogue: Despite not being our TA this semester, she still checks in our group to see if we need anything. Jesslyn is working hard to finish the semester optimistically and excellently in all of her courses. We can always count on an honest smile and greeting every morning.
Staff - Mr Legario - Mr Legario goes above and beyond in the classroom to make sure each and every student understands the lesson before moving on. He shares his knowledge and pride for his country to all those around. He wears his heart on his sleeve and his smile is contagious
JH - Melany Lebron-Perez-Melany is very friendly and fun to be around. She is very respectful to her teachers and peers. She is very polite and a hard worker in class. She is an excellent example of HECTOR in our school.

High School Girls: Coach Baca will hold a Girl's Golf meeting this Wednesday during lunch in the high school library to sign up interested players and get information out about practices.
High School Students: SFTD Square Dance practice will be held at 2:00 pm tomorrow (2/25) instead of 4:00 pm Please let your friends know. 💃

If there are any juniors or seniors who are thinking about becoming a teacher and are interested in a possible summer apprenticeship position, please email Mrs. Montes @ the elementary school by Friday February 23rd.
HS Science Olympiad will have practice on Friday at 9 in Ms. Pointon's office!
There will be Friday school this week for JH & HS Students in the HS Library from 8 - 12
High School will release at 3:00 pm on Thursday, Feb 22 so students and staff can attend the HS Girls District Basketball Game in La Junta. Buses will run on normal schedule; bus students may wait in the library until 4 pm.
High School Girls District play-off continues on Thursday in La Junta where our Lady Trojans will take on Fowler @ 4 p.m. LAHS will release at 3 pm so staff and students may attend the game (bus students may wait in the library until 4 pm) Good Luck Lady Trojans 💙

Athletes of the Week
JV - Logan Wagner. Logan worked hard all year and last week finished strong, he took the opportunity and was able to score in his minutes. Good work Logan.
Varsity - Kollin Reyher. Kollin has worked hard all year and it looks like he is getting ready to roll offensively just in time for the postseason.
For the week of 02/05
JV-Alexis Greenbank
V- Mya Marfil came off the bench the last few games and used her role to contribute defensively on the court. She also took care of the ball offensively and minimized her turnovers. She asks questions and keeps everyone on the same page.
Week of 02/12
V- Emma Russell is a quick post who runs the floor and gets back when needed. Her post defense continues to grow and she works to keep the other teams out from under the basket. She has developed her shot and has a quick baseline jumper that helps the team offensively.
HECTOR of the Week
Staff - Mrs. Armstrong. Mrs. Armstrong is an advocate for the students and her compassion, dedication, and willingness to assist students is the definition of HECTOR. Her presence in the school is one of a kind and having her within our community is a blessing. Congrats, Mrs. Armstrong
JH - Jordan Dupree-Jordan is a great helper to her teachers. She works very hard in school and in sports. She has a super awesome sense of humor. She goes above and beyond when helping her teachers and her peers. She is an excellent example of HECTOR for our school!
HS - Madison Huffman comes to school each day looking for the best in the day and in everything she does. Her optimism is unmatched and her work is always wonderfully done. She is all of HECTOR each day and represents our school wonderfully in all she does.
Junior High Pure Gold Members: we will meet this Friday at 1:00 pm in the high school to start packing birthday bags! Please mark your calendars.

Ms. Ashley and Ms. Yaz's class talked about the upcoming holiday so they had made Presidents Day hats last Thursday!
The parent meeting and FAFSA night have been moved to the HS computer lab (room 17) on February 21st starting at 5:30 PM. Representatives from Otero's Financial Aid Department will be joining us at 6 to help with FAFSA completion. Please bring or have access to your 2022 tax information which is typically a 1040.
