JH/HS Announcements for 12/4
Ho Ho Ho from STUCO!
High School STUCO will be selling candy grams at lunch for junior high and high school all this week. Regular candy canes are $1 and specialty candy canes will be $3. Candy grams can be purchased and sent to anyone that goes to or works with in the district. They will be delivered before Christmas break.
Staff - Ms. Cunnigham not only does a fantastic job running and maintaining the library, she also does an excellent job with the hard work of tracking attendance. She is diligent in following up with teachers when she notices discrepancies or has questions with attendance.
JH - Jordan Dupree is a great helper. She gets her classmates breakfast every morning. She helps out classmates on their school work. She also shows amazing school pride as a cheerleader.
HS - Janae Hawkins is a fun and intelligent student. She completes all her work on time and dives deep into her writing, and is extremely fun to teach

In a solid HS debut, Jadann shot 61% from the field. She also contributed defensively with 2 steals and 4 deflections. Good things are coming for the Lady Trojans and Jadann is a part of that

HS Wrestler of the week is Bella Martinez.
She started the week off with a win against Walsenburg. Then placed 2nd at the Pueblo Central Girls Invitational in a field of 27-teams.

HS Basketball
Jesus Aguilar (pictured separate) - in his first Varsity start Jesus ended with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Jesus was a huge energy guy on Friday providing a positive impact at both ends of the court.
Jerome Ethridge - in his first high school game at JV last week in Fowler Jerome played aggressively on both sides of the court. He looked to get to the rim early and flew around on defense ending up with 5 steals. Good Job Jerome!
Las Animas School District will start their Christmas Break on Friday, Dec. 22; students will return on Tuesday, Jan. 9. (Monday, Jan. 8 will be a staff workday)

Staff Spotlight:
Congratulations JH & HS Cheer 📣. JH took gold (1st place) at the 1st Annual Wildcat Invitational in Holly. Perfect way to end out their competition season! Varsity finished out with 2nd place but made some huge improvements from our last competition. Now to fine tune their routine to get it ready for state next weekend at the Denver Colosseum!
