Just a reminder.......The Community Costume Contest is at 8 am in the cafeteria, the parade (regular parade route) is at 10 am, Ranchburger (come support the Sophomore Class!) is from 11 -1, King/Queen Interviews (open to the public) is 12 -1 then the square dancing/awards, crowing of King/queen is at 2 pm. Congratulations to Mrs. Cindy Winstead at LAES and Mrs. Imelda Ensong at LAHS for being the lucky winners of D-HAC (District Health Advisory Council) Lucky Duck Dinner In A Bag winners for April. HS Baseball Schedule Update: we have added- 2 JV HS Baseball @ Doherty HS on May 6th at 2 & 4 pm - bus leaves LAHS at 10:30 am

We are only a few minutes from starting the SFTD King Contest at the bus barn - it is open to the public! A big shout out to our judges this year! 👍

Attention Jr. High Families: JH students will be taking a tour at Boggsville on Friday led by Mrs. Anita Pointon. Please make sure they have a jacket and good walking shoes for the day. They will also have a picnic lunch out at Boggsville.


Reminder the SFTD King contest starts at 1:15 pm today at the bus barn if you want to come and watch!


Senior Seminar students are learning basic sewing skills: sewing a button, repairing a hem, and repairing a seam. Thank you Mrs. Anita Pointon for coming in to help them!

HS Track Update: The Cheyenne Wells track meet will be held in Burlington on April 29 and will start at 10:00 a.m


Santa Fe Trail Day Square Dancers: Dress rehearsal for square dancing will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. - you need to wear what you plan to dance in on Friday. (bring extra clothes to practice in) There will be no meal on Wednesday since we are starting at 7 pm. It is mandatory that ALL dancers be there.


The High School Food Science Classes have been working hard on ideas for new menu items for the school! Yesterday, they had a "taste testing" with all the HS students, who then got to vote for their favorite. And the winner of the taste test was................The Cilantro Lime Rice Chicken Burrito Bowl!! They will now work with the kitchen staff to see about adding it to the school menu for next year.





HECTOR of the Week HS - Matthew Dowell - Reliable, and know the school expectations and gets all of his work done in a timely manner.
Staff- Mr. Japhet- Few are able to show HECTOR more than Mr Japhet. He has worked tirelessly on MTSS and keeps us updated on what we need to do to reach our goals. He's a valuable part of the admin team and is always willing to listen and bounce ideas off of.
JH - Brynlee Perez is an outstanding young lady. She shows HECTOR everyday. She comes to class prepared and ready to go. She is coachable and gets along with all her peers.


Sophomore Families: Please remember to send 1 dessert 🍰 and 2 family size bags of potato chips with your students on Friday to help with Ranchburger. Also, we can use parent volunteers throughout the time from 10:30-1:30. Thank you!
