April 12-16 is Week of the Young Child. Here is a list of activities and times for kids in The Early Learning Center and JumpStart Programs at Las Animas Elementary School. We will also celebrate National Child Abuse and Prevention Month during April.
The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
12th-outdoor activities
13th--Story time with Ms. Goines at 10:15
14th-"Plant" pinwheels in the morning for Child Abuse Month
and popsicles in the afternoon
15th-Play day and picnic at the park.

Today at the elementary all school assembly, the staff and students got a chance to say farewell to Mrs. Connie Bender. She retired from the district last year but due to COVID and remote learning they were unable to do this last spring. Here is the link to her "Walk of Fame" that has become a tradition at LAES.

Freshman & Sophomores: if you plan to do the Golf Course clean up this morning-it has been postponed due to high wind warnings. You can come to the HS instead to pack backpacks.


Update to the HS Volleyball Schedule:
The Rye game has been rescheduled for Wednesday April 14th at 4:00 in Rye.
We moved the John Mall volleyball game from Saturday April 17th to Friday April 16th in Las Animas at 11:00 am, due to Prom for both schools.
We have added a C-team volleyball quad on Monday April 19th in Rye starting at 4:30.
