2025-26 School Supply Lists:
6th Grade Shadow Day at the Junior High:
Before the school year wrapped up, our 6th grade students had the opportunity to visit the junior high for a special "Shadow Day." During this visit, they were paired with current junior high students and got a firsthand look at what a typical day in 7th grade might be like.
They met their future teachers, toured the buildings, and experienced the flow of the school day. This experience was designed to give them a preview of junior high life and, more importantly, help ease any nerves about the transition.
We hope that this day helps our incoming 7th graders feel more confident, comfortable, and excited as they prepare to start this next chapter in the fall!
Some of the Las Animas Cheer helped the VFW today at the Las Animas Cemetery. They lead the pledge and helped fold the flag.💙

First Team Criteria: (school issued) 1-3.60 or higher cumulative GPA 2-minimum junior in school 3-must be a letter winner or equivalent in sport/activity nominated 4-must be a participant in a CHSAA sanctioned sport/activity during current season (Note: Cumulative GPA’s through the Fall Semester will be used for Winter & Spring. Cumulative GPA’s through the Spring Semester will be used for Fall.) (Note: A student may be named in each activity season.)

State Golf Update from Coach Darius:
Las Animas High School was proudly represented at this year’s State Golf Championship by Emma and Roree, who competed in a field of 84 talented golfers from across Colorado. Despite challenging conditions—including a rainstorm and weather delay—both athletes remained resilient and finished strong in the two-day tournament.
Emma earned a 48th place finish in her first state appearance, showing impressive focus and determination. Roree, also competing at state for the first time, placed 84th and played through to the end with a positive attitude and commendable perseverance.
Out of 37 schools represented, Las Animas placed 29th overall—a great accomplishment for a program continuing to grow and gain experience at the state level.
Congratulations to both girls for their hard work, sportsmanship, and strong representation of Las Animas!
