FREE Strengthening Families Program for parents and youth ages 10-14: Register now with the Bent County Extension Office (see details on flyer)

Recipe books are made. If you would like, you can just stop and grab one!
Mrs. Torrez's 5th grade class class partnered up with Bent County Extension Office to help find recipes that are affordable and are easy to make. They were given a list of commodities that someone will typically get at the food pantry along with items that are staples in most households. From these lists, they researched recipes that would best fit these lists. They are selling the recipe books for $10. With the money made from the books, they will be donating the money to the food pantry. Please see the flyer attached for further details. Also, keep in mind orders can only be taken Monday-Thursday from 7:45 am to 4:00 pm. @ the elementary school: 719-456-1862

HS Basketball Athletes of the Week
JV - Matthew Dowell - Matt always works hard on the court and looks to score for himself, but is willing to make an extra pass to get the team a good look. Keep it up Matt.
Varsity - Tayton Coulter - Tayton is a tremendous leader on the court, he is aggressive at both ends of the court and puts his teammates in situations to be successful. We are excited to have him back for the second half of the season.

Staff: Mr. Osborn has steadily built a strong science program at LAHS. He has committed several years to this endeavor and the program is getting stronger every year. Keep up the good work..
JH - Esias Barrios has been showing outstanding growth and maturity. He is very helpful in class by helping put materials away. Has been very respectful to his teachers. He has also been tolerant with his struggles and has been asking for assistance instead of acting out.
HS - Zerayah Hernandez is our choice. She is very engaged in class, works hard to get her work done on time and she is never afraid to ask for clarifications.
