The Jr. High Wrestling dual vs Rocky Ford scheduled for 1/24 has been cancelled.
When it was too cold for outside recess, these kids found a fun activity to do inside!
Staff - Mr. Lindauer - he works hard and has kids engaging in several different activities and projects throughout his classes.
JH - Mariah Duran has been showing HECTOR all around school. She is very coachable in the classroom and as a cheerleader. She is very polite and treats her classmates nicely. She has a great sense of humor. Mariah is an excellent student at Las Animas.
HS - Remia Alvidrez has changed her attendance and has been coming to school getting all her work on time and making sure she is do well in all her classes

High School Basketball vs Crowley County update for Tuesday, Jan. 16:
All games will be at the high school starting at 4:00. JV Girls two quarters followed by JV Boys Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys.
Monday, Jan 15: JH Girls Basketball vs Walsenburg has been cancelled.
School Update for Tuesday, January 16: Reminder for HS Athletes: you must be in attendance ALL day (10 am - 4 pm) in order to play in tomorrow's basketball game vs. Crowley County.
JH/HS Announcements:
2024 Santa Fe Trail Day King & Queen Candidates: there will be a parent meeting tonight at 5:30 pm OR Friday at 10:00 am at the high school (pictured are the 2023 SFTD King & Queen: Mia Quintana and Kevin Nevland)
Due to extreme cold, Las Animas Jr. High and High School will have a 2 hour delay tomorrow (1/15/24). Staff will report at 9:30 am and school will start at 10:00 am. No breakfast will be served.
Jr. High & High School Bus Students: We will NOT run any morning routes in the morning (1/15/24) due to the extreme cold & risk of exposure. Parents/Families, if you can not transport your student to school, please call the office and let them know; 719-456-0211. Afternoon routes will run on normal schedule
Due to a broken water pipe in the elementary school - there will be NO elementary school OR Daycare tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 15. At this time, the Jr. High & High School will be on regular schedule.
