Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Roree, our Athlete of the Week! She brought the heat in two solid games this week, stacking up tons
of blocks and kills on the court. We’re so proud to watch Roree grow and blossom this season. Her hard work and
determination are paying off in a big way. Keep it up, Roree!

HECTOR of the Week
JH - Naomi Burquez - Naomi has become a quiet but confident leader. She excels in class, and she is a reliable student.
She is very positive and optimistic. She produces solid work for her teachers. We are proud of the way that Naomi
represents Las Animas Junior High.
HS - Jerome Ethridge: Jerome has been a pleasure to have in class and is an excellent peer help. He did a wonderful job
last week as a peer coach in English showing his team how to analyze. He continues to step up as a leader in his class as
an athlete and an academic. Jerome continues to embody HECTOR in all that he does in and out of the classroom.
Staff - The HECTOR of the week for staff is Mrs. Wallace. Over the past five years, Mrs. Wallace had led both campuses
to have the success we are having now. Instead of settling into a position and working to "maintain," each day she works
to propel staff and students to be their best academically and HECTORially. And she's nowhere near done. In her tenure,
she has weathered major storms like COVID and celebrated major achievements like the high school campus's rating of
"Performance" for the past three years. Keep up the great work, Mrs. Wallace!
