😇🎄 Las Animas School District is so proud to partner with Bent County on the Christmas Angel Program! This year the program helped 60 families for a total of 121 children! Thank you so much to ALL the Christmas Angels who filled slips, donated items and money, helped transport gifts, helped hand out the gifts. Bent County should be proud, thank you so much for stepping up! 👏

Jr. High & High School Winter Athletes: sports pictures will be tomorrow, make sure you have your jersey. Here is the schedule:

Athlete of the Week
JV - Braley Spitz worked hard defensively this past weekend he averaged 7 rebounds and 2 steals with the energy he brought. Keep it up!
Varsity - Logan Servaes. Logan played a great game defensively on Friday night, then turned around on Saturday getting to double digits for the first time this year. Keep it up Logan.
JV-Bria Gardner is the JV athlete of the week. During practice, she works to improve and get stronger underneath. At the Border Wars, she contributed on both sides of the ball. We look forward to good things from this freshman.
Varsity- Jadann Eck When defenses scout our team, they usually lock in on Jadann. She has to overcome tight defense to score. She also steps in as the back-up PG when needed. During the Border Wars, she kept putting the ball up and kept the team going.
Boys wrestler of the week is Orion Martinez. Orion has been working hard in the room and it is showing in competition. He beat a tough opponent from Holly (avenging a loss from Regionals freshman year) and won the Salida tournament with all pins.
Girls wrestler of the week is Bella Martinez. Bella has done a great job of balancing wrestling and cheer. After competing at State cheer, she won the Salida tournament and was selected as Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament for the lower weights.
