Athlete of the Week
Jackson O’Connor - Jackson has done a great job this year. He threw out 3 base runners against Custer County and hit well this week. He was voted as a Captain and his leadership is contagious. --
Girls Track: Analyce Wilson worked hard in practice this week and transferred that growth to the meet on Saturday in Limon. Analyce PRed in the 400 by 3 seconds. Great work!
Boys Track: Dayton Morlan PRed in the 200m Dash by .05 second and qualified for finals at the meet in Limon. He took third overall. Dayton was able to extend his stride and run closer to the ground to improve his time. He is shaping up to have a great meet when we can dodge the wind. Great work Dayton. Please come to the office to take your picture

District Health Advisory Council is sponsoring free haircuts at OJC for High School students to look and feel their best at Prom. The haircuts will be on Tuesday, April 18th, with three different times to choose from with free transportation.
The deadline to sign up is April 6th; this is a first come, first serve basis for 36 students. If interested, please sign up in the High School office.

JH Athlete of the week:
Congratulations to the 165 lb middle school state champion Braydon Ortiz. Not only did he win the title but he had an
undefeated season with a record of 38-0; And he is Las Animas Jr. High School’s FIRST state champion.
The JH wrestling team also had 7 other qualifiers and they all have a right to be proud of their work this season
Athlete of the week for HS Baseball
4/25 vs Trinidad - Orion Martinez - Orion pitched 2 innings against Trinidad and only gave up one hit and one run. He
had a hit and scored a run on offense. He played great in the outfield also.
4/24 vs Peyton - TJ Ortiz - He pitched 5 innings and had 7 strikeouts while only giving up 2 earned runs. He was 1 for 2
batting with a double. He played great against the #1 team
4/15 vs Center - Kree Wallace - Kree was 4 for 5 batting and scored 4 runs and had 1 RBI. He did a great job in his first
varsity game.
4/25 vs Centauri - Brandon Gallegos - Brandon pitched 5 innings only allowing 2 hits and had 4 strikeouts. He had a
great day on the mound.
