The LASD Empowering Together Mentor Program hosted a super fun after-school activity yesterday for our elementary students!
Junior High and High School
students—including athletes from football, volleyball, cheer, and eSports—joined in to mentor and connect with our younger students. All together we had over 170 students participate! A BIG SHOUT out to all the coaches for allowing their athletes to participate!
The objective of this activity was to help build positive mentorship relationships between grade levels. Students created a Halloween craft to take home, worked together in team-building activities outside, and enjoyed a snack.
If your child hasn’t told you about the game “Birdie On A Perch!” yet, be sure to ask them—they had a blast playing it with their mentors!
