JH wrestling starts on Monday, Dec. 18 - they will have a parent meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 5:30 in the HS cafeteria

JH Boys Basketball Cancelled today: Crowley County schools are closed today therefore they are canceling the junior high basketball game today. We will not try to reschedule.


Las Animas School District will be on regular schedule today -Thursday, 12/14

JH/HS Announcements for 12/11:



Athlete of Week - HS Basketball
TJ Ortiz - TJ has been a leader on and off the court this season and had a double-double in all 3 of our games last week, keep it up!
Nicholas Duran - Nicholas looks for his shot, and shoots with confidence. Keep working hard Nich.
Varsity- Emma Netherton had a strong showing at the Breaking Blue tournament, earning her MVP as voted by the other coach. She is leading the team in RB and steals. She continues to be a force inside and continues to work on her outside shot.
JV - Reima Alvidrez - She is stepping up and playing positions that she doesn’t normally play. She is very attentive when learning and asks great questions. She played hard against DHPH and had a great attitude during the busy week. Good job Reima.
HS Wrestling: Orion Martinez.
Orion has shown a lot of commitment and discipline this season. At the Rob Mickel Invitational, he earned a 1st place finish with a win over the #5 wrestler in the State.


JH/HS HECTOR of the Week
HS - Orion Martinez has shown so much effort in his class work and athletics. He shows HECTOR in all he does.
Staff - Karen Donkle - Mrs. Donkle takes excellent care of students & staff. She is always welcoming and professional, and has a vast knowledge and experience as well. We are very happy she is here to take care of all of us.
JH - Bria Gardner-Bria is a great student and helper!She works very hard in her classes and in sports. She often helps her classmates and her teachers as well.She has a great attitude all the time, and she has an awesome sense of humor
