The JH/HS Teen Council, in partnership with the CSU Extension Office, was excited to send a puzzle home with all of our families to enjoy over Spring Break! 🧩 The JH group also got some "extra" help from the 6th graders who were enjoying their "Shadow Day" with the 7th graders.
Seniors need to have photos and senior quotes sent in for the yearbook by March 23. They can send them to Alexis Greenbank.

📚🎈 The Mixed Age room celebrated Reading Across America Week with a fun reading challenge! Students who read books at home and returned their hot air balloon page on Monday, March 9 earned a prize from Ms. Keonna.

However, this event can only happen with the help of our community. Without volunteers to help plan, organize, and assist the night of the event, we may no longer be able to continue this important tradition.
We are asking parents, community members, and local supporters to consider helping with planning or volunteering the night of Post Prom. Even a little time can make a big difference!

HECTOR of the Week:
Staff - Elijah Aragon. Mr. Aragon demonstrates excellence everyday. He works his hardest to help the students and student athletes of Las Animas School district grow everyday. His high standard and expectations are making an optimistic impact on multiple students as well as the school as a whole.
JH - Daniel - Daniel Garcia has been a great asset to LA junior high. He has emerged as a leader of his class. He works very hard in his classes. He is very tolerant and is not afraid to try new things, even joining wrestling this year for the first time. Daniel has a great attitude and sense of humor. He asks lots of questions and adds to class discussions. We all really enjoy having Daniel in our student body, and we are proud of how he demonstrates HECTOR in our schools."
HS - Alayna Hudson has entered a whole new era in her learning and growth. She always shows respect, comes to class ready to learn, and consistently demonstrates a positive attitude. Alayna is kind to others and helps create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.

Boys Basketball Athlete of the Week
Jerome Ethridge. He has been solid for us all year and continued to have a positive impact for the team this past weekend. We are looking forward to continual growth out of Jerome and the big senior season he has coming next year.
The final Lady Trojan athlete of the week is Azzy (Azoriah) Martinez. This freshman always came off the bench ready to contribute. Her key shots helped us this past weekend by keeping us in the game. We look forward to the next 3 years and how Azzy will grow!
