High School Students: Finals: All forgiveness coupons are due to the office no later than December 11th at 4pm. Anything after that will not be counted toward the Fall Semester Testing. Finals Exemptions will be posted on the 16th by 4pm.

Staff HECTOR of the Month for November
Kaley Hines - For the month of November, I would like to nominate Mrs. Kaley Hines as my staff HECTOR. Mrs. Hines shows Excellence and Tolerance in developing a new curriculum for English I and II, and meeting challenging deadlines. She is very Coachable and reflective in our weekly conversations about observations, and she takes feedback and puts it into action. Mrs. Hines is always Optimistic about her growth as a teacher, and the growth of her students. I am Thankful for the opportunity to learn alongside Mrs. Kaley Hines. Congratulations on being HECTOR of the month for November!!! Keep up the amazing work.
Ms. Ensong - She is very tolerant of students and she focuses on helping students engaged with learning see success in her classroom. She is a cutie and we love that she is teaching higher level math here a LAHS. Congratulations and thank you Mrs. Ensong.
Mr. Vigil - He is always trying to engage his students by making assignments enjoyable and entertaining while maintaining a focus of productivity. He is a very approachable teacher who values relationships with his students. He allows for a calming time as well when work is completed.He also has a great Snoop Dog Impression, congratulations Mr. Vigil.
Ann Marfil - This month's HECTOR of the month will try anything to do what is best for our students and staff at Las Animas Junior High and Las Animas High School. She has moved and changed positions with a smile on her face and embraces it each time with grace. She is thriving in her newest position and I appreciate the extra time and effort she puts into ensuring all t's are crossed and Is are dotted. Mrs. Marfil, thank you for showing HECTOR each day and in every way.

High School Students: It's that time of year. If you want to change classes for next semester, you need to complete a purple schedule change form located outside Ms. Pointon's office. Completed forms are due December 12th.
December 2nd was National Special Education Day and it holds a special place in the hearts of educators and advocates alike. On this day in 1975, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) was signed into law, reaffirming the importance of inclusive education for students with special needs. We would like to recognize our team at LASD - Mrs. Brenda Woodyard, Mrs. Ashley Montes, Ms. Melissa Martinez, and Mrs. Esmeralda Snow. They were also given cups by LAES Family Teacher Organization.
During the Breaking Blue Tournament this weekend, LA Travel will host their annual silent auction to support students traveling to Costa Rica in 2026.
